The Cuban reactionary Cuban exile groups headed by the Cuban American National Foundation - CANF - the US right wing along with Lazaro and co., continuously lied about the case and about Cuba.  Scum like Oliver North, of FOX News, a felon and arms trafficker, as well as others, had a field day demonizing Cuba.  As did the spokespersons of exile groups, such as Jose Basulto of Brothers to the Rescue, a terrorist who in 1987 machine gunned a Cuban hotel full of tourists.

Defying the laws of the land they showed how cynical and inhumane they were/are when they tried to separate a child from his father.

But the people saw the scheme and did not support this kidnapping.
